Perspective Drawing:
Students will do quick sketches of one, two, and three-point perspective. Students will select one form of perspective and create a developed project based on their choice of perspective and subject matter.

Morphing Objects
Students have been provided a sketchbook and should be drawing images for the Morphing Objects project. Each student has been asked to list five objects they might use as references for their drawings. Students may gather real objects or pictures of objects as resources to observe while drawing. Drawings for this project should be intentional attempts at realism. This will be accomplished through a series of five drawings. Drawings in sketchbooks are developmental.

Students are beginning to create finished works of art from Morphing Objects studies. Students have been presented a variety of materials from which to choose. Drawing surfaces include: drawing paper, Bristol board, watercolor paper, and canvas board. Media choices include pencil, pen & ink, Prismacolor pencil, acrylic paint and other materials. Students are completing projects one of three ways: 1) finish all five sketchbook drawings, 2) represent five stages on one large page, or 3) select one of the stages and present it in context in finished work.

Student project plans:
  1. KD-a rose developing wings, transforming into a fairy - white drawing paper -Prismacolor
  2. JH-"a bird in the hand..." becoming a birdcage - Bristol board
  3. MK-a tree becoming a hand and arm holding the earth - white drawing paper - medium undecided
  4. NR-a grandfather clock morphing into a tree - white drawing paper - medium undecided
  5. QR-a nutcracker becoming a Union Jack -white drawing paper - pencil
  6. BS-a clock transforming into a turtle (Is time moving slowly?) - canvas board
  7. SS-a shoe transforming into... a peacock, possibly? (proud as a peacock) - changed to eagle - canvas board (Does this relate to morphing objects planning or is it a new project?)
